The artist I chose to represent oil paintings that I like is Roy Lichtenstein. His style is unique and comic strip like. That's especially appealing to me because it reminds me of cover art from Mayday Parade's new album which I enjoy drawing. Seeing that similarity drew me towards his work, and the fact that he was the first artist I chose to look at from a list of many was cool, almost a coinsidence, since I like his work so well. Below are ten examples of his artwork.
I like this because to me, it's saying that in the past and now things haven't changed much, people still get hurt.
Obviously this one took a long time to make since her whole face is made up of tiny dots, the dots are easier to see in this one then the others.
This ones cool because yeah she's still crying but at least she's getting a hug!
I really like what it says in the caption, "I don't care! I'd rather sink than call for help!"
Like it because it's not blonde or crying
Very different from his other work so I had to put it up(:
I really like her eyes in this one
I like how intense the face the guy is making and then how the girl doesnt really care.
I didn't expect her to be smiling in this picture so I picked it because it surprised me
